Ive got a sorta-old incandescent EXIT sign with battery backup. Its from 1978 and has a red fiberglass lens.

Charger and Tim, great signage! The "FIRE ESCAPE" signs are very cool. Thanks for sharing. Anyone else have more photos? Keep them coming!

My collection of EXITS got bigger today!

Stopped at the Habitat for Humanity "Re-Store" this afternoon (a thrift shop of sorts, that handles "experienced" building materials as well as the typical used furniture and household goods) and scored TWO new specimens!!

First, this NOS Lithonia Lighting fixture, that came with a matching extra 'front' in the box such that it can be made two-sided. Also a 2nd extra front with green lettering which looks like it'd also fit the fixture, though probably not made by Lithonia. (as it is slightly different than the red ones, and doesn't have their name on it) It is illuminated by a 6 LED circuit board inside its bottom, complete with (never used) rechargeable battery for power failures.

BUT THIS ONE'S MORE-FUNNER. I've actually been hoping to run across one of these, since I've always thought they were interesting. It has a few scratches  but the price was right... :good: The day-glo green lettering is on a slab of clear plexiglas, edge lit (in this case) by 8 LED's within the housing at the top. It also has a battery inside.

I haven't hooked up the red Lithonia yet, but couldn't wait to stick a cord on the green one to see how (surprisingly!) bright the sucker is. Discovered right away that neither of these will act like any of my others...with those batteries inside, they don't GO OFF IMMEDIATELY when unplugged...! :nono:

so I guess I won't be displaying either one in the bedroom...!?? :Phil:
