Teeco controller cabinet question

Postby jab8356 on Sat Feb 23, 2013 11:28 am

I recently acquired this Teeco controller and cabinet.

It has a hole for a key hole cover in the door. There was a slightly modified Crouse Hinds cabinet key hole cover inside the cabinet. I don't think it was used on this cabinet. Does anyone have a picture of a cabinet like this with a key hole cover installed on it? I'd like to see what an original looks like.

My Teeco cabinet is very similar to yours but it does not have a key hole cover.

TSI had keyhole covers that were their 2-light "logo" on similar cabinets, like the one in this thread that sold on eBay last year. (the eBay link still appears to work, with pictures)

Thanks for the link Tim. That helps to see what that cabinet had. It could be that the door was made for a key hole cover, but one was not always used I guess.

Is there a hole for one?

I'll bet you get some offers for that CH keyhole cover.

People can make me offers for it if they feel the need. The hole was enlarged though.
It is the kind that was on the art deco style cabinets.

Not to try to hijack this thread but WOW did that cabinet/controller go for a good price on ebay!!
A cop pulled me over and said, "Papers..." So I replied, "Scissors! I win!" and drove off.

My cabinet does not have a hole for a key hole cover. It does not have the "Southern Signals, Inc." embossed on it either. It otherwise looks the same as yours. I'll post pics later, maybe in another thread. I haven't gotten my Teeco working yet and I don't know why. I might need a little help from someone who knows a little about these controllers and can help me troubleshoot it.

Spoiler:
  Where's troubleshooter?....

Jerry, here is the link to my Teeco signal controller thread....

I have an empty TSI cabinet that has a key hole cover like Jerry is describing.

Image

I know that is a bad photo.

I'm still upset about missing that TSI controller on the bay

That is quite interesting! I didn't think a CH key hole cover would have been used on this cabinet. Perhaps I need to hang on to the one that came with it and make it work. Thanks for the photo!
