Lazy Fix

Postby Sargent_Sowell on Sat Sep 28, 2013 3:56 pm

I just moved to Rhode Island to take a job offer, and on my first day in the ocean state I decided to drive around and do a little exploring. Okay, a lot of exploring. Anyway, I came to the little town of Warren, RI where I found a traffic signal with two green lights. The cross street is a one way street (going to the right) and my theory is that the street used to be a two way street, with a turn arrow, but after it was changed to a one way, instead of replacing the light or taking the fourth section out, they just put in a second green ball. Here's the intersection https://maps.gstatic.com/m/streetview/?panoid=AmgrWIkX3rZc0y_2wnVDaw&cbp=0,242.5255683757738,,0,0 what do you think?

That's a weird setup but cool looking none the less. As far as why they snuck that in there I haven't a clue  Thanks for the pic :good:

I'm gonna venture a guess and say it used to be a green straight arrow and green right arrow like it's sister intersection, but someone wacked the inline 4 to the right, and they changed them both over

Though it gets more confusing here: http://goo.gl/maps/p1LLa

Green arrow in the center, one way sign on the left, no left turn on the right

Guess they never heard of "NO TURNS"

I am going to say. It is not an exclusive phase and was converted to Balls after the lawsuit.......

Someone was to lazy to make it a 3 section in the 3 way.... :tease:
Well what do you know. If I put my name here, I do not have to sign it everytime.
