The brick pillar is just an example of how real tv is.... nothing is real on tv! :Wink2:

As a kid I believed it was real. I loved the signal, the trolley (I'm a train nut too), and the sand box he would play with some times. I also liked the idea of the town he lived in, small and everyone was super friendly (ha!).

Was Mr. Rogers also a traffic signal tech? I mean, how else did he know that the green wire came next?!

Thanks for the vids Joe. Though now I wish there was video (or at least pics) of older sigs being constructed. I'd love to see the assembly line of an AGA light house beacon or a GE Novalux pedestal signal.

From what I understand, this is why there is no longer footage from “Grandpa Roger’s Neighborhood” and the segment where they showed the Crouse Hinds Art Deco assembly line. Dang intellectual property rights protections!

Yes, Marbelite, with the visors cut down for the TV camera. IN earlier episodes, the full tunnels were there. He used soft white bulbs  - I remember an episode where he changed a burnt bulb.

I vaguely remember seeing a REALLY early episode where he had only a 2-section signal. Can anyone else remember that ?
