Got 'er back from the powdercoaters today and put back together. Anyone else have "signal creep" after powdercoating? (Had to fore-go the lock-washers on the rods, wasn't enough thread!)

Here she is assembled: http://i.imgur.com/kWx6Oj5.jpg

The terminal strip mounted in the signal: http://i.imgur.com/He10tmm.jpg

And lastly, a before shot for comparison: http://i.imgur.com/d31egwg.jpg

Lookin' really nice!

If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for the blasting and powder coating?
Peace!

SignalFreak wrote:Got 'er pulled apart this afternoon, hope to get a quote for blasting and coating this week sometime. Most of the light came apart remarkably easy. I had 2 screws stick, both on the reflector bracket "catchers". I beat one and one beat me. :rob: Guess that one is getting powder coated as-is.

Also began cleaning up some of the odds and ends that came out of the signal. So far I've spent most of the afternoon on the terminal block. Amazing what a wire wheel and some hot soapy water can do.... I think it came out pretty good!

I love this style of terminal block. To me, it seems like something from 1892, not 1952.

Looks great!!
Ammonia works even better on brass

$150, including custom-ordering 3 lbs of powder at $18/lb. Good shop over here by La Porte that really went the extra mile to get things right... he had missed part of the hinges and reworked them over the weekend for free.

Jay, I'm gonna have to write down that ammonia idea for future reference!

Got a set of lenses on order, and when Gordon gets back I'm gonna be pestering him for some gaskets and a reworked harness. She's really starting to come together and I can't wait see the finished product!
