Cabinet info?

EM, NEMA, whatever - if it controls a traffic signal, you can talk about it here.

Cabinet info?

Postby giannijohn on Sun Dec 16, 2012 11:49 pm

Anyone have a cabinet or heard of Seco signal engineering company. I just picked up this cabinet for a new project. I dont know what controller originally lived in it. But when removed from service it had an EPAC 300 and a old EDI conflict monitor. I see 4 spots for load switches and it looks like the flasher is not one of the normal flasher packs. Sorry dont know what you call this kind of flasher. Ill try and get some pictures. Well I just looked up the company and guess they must still be in business. My cabinet has a date of 1977.

Sounds like a very early 2 phase cabinet built to the TS-1 NEMA specifications. Might even be before that if the flasher looks different...and was upgraded to meet TS-1 at a later date. Look forward to seeing some pictures!

Photobucket is horribly buggy, laggy, unorganized and takes about 10 back button clicks before it actually goes back!

Flickr has been a much nicer alternative for picture uploading and organizing

Wow! That to me looks like a Non-NEMA cabinet that was modified. The flasher is a non-NEMA solid state flasher found in some newer mechanical controllers.

That's quite odd looking

Can you post a photo of the outer cabinet when closed?

I have some older 4 position NEMA cabinets out there that look like that where someone needed to add an overlap and a B connector was either spliced or terminated into the existing backpanel. I'm glad I haven't had any problems with them (yet) 'cause there are also no wiring schematics either... :panic:
