Whatever it is has certainly got the general Karma all screwed up...which has oddly enough resulted in a perfectly delightful (sorry, guess that's a bad pun...?) little TRANSYT 1880EL 2-phase NEMA controller landing in my bedroom, running my TSI twins!! (via my 'fauxpanel', even, in the place of my baby GammaTronix?!!)

YES, ladies and gentlemen, you did read that correctly -- ME (the 'isn't there anything more obsolete than that?' controller fan) actually now owns a fully digital computerized NEMA STANDARD signal controller machine -- with keypad, menus, LCD screen, and all those crazy "modern" things ??!! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Here's a quick (and dark and lousy -- sorry!) video clip of what happened when I unplugged the GammaTronix and plugged in the Transyt instead. REMEMBER -- I'm plugging into/outta a 'harness' connected to a box full of my own electrical guesswork, intended to mimic a 2ph NEMA cabinet (according to the A-cable pinout available here) but heretofor never actually tested with anything but my GammaTronix controller, which may or may not (I certainly don't know for sure!) actually conform to actual NEMA standards....

OH, DEAR -- what HAVE I done to myself NOW...?? This thing (even in its relative 2ph simplicity) can do SO MUCH MORE than anything else I've ever attempted to 'figure out'...?
guess I'll start by hooking up some peds... ![]() |
HUGE THANKS go out to Mikerm, from whom I got it. I PROMISE 'YA, Mike -- I'll be having LOTS of fun with this one!!

STAY TUNED -- more to come, no doubt -- esp once I get brave enough to start poking around on that there keypad, to see if I really CAN make any sense outta all the stuff in the manual for this thing...?
