Nearly all of them (?) on 5th Avenue in Manhattan were scrapped in 1964 or so by then N.Y.C. traffic commissioner Henry Barnes, and he apparently did a good job in doing so. This is true for most of the statuettes of the God Mercury. Though there are at least four still in existence. Two of them on display at the Museum of the city of N.Y., while the other two are in the possessions of private collectors, in which I'm sure each one paid a pretty penny for.
It is rather funny to think that some New Yorkers weren't exactly fond of the traffic signal at all, due to its design.

I'd say that's a great work of art. Even if one is not a signal nut, the individual still has to appreciate something like that in my opinion.
