Eagle 4-way with access door

Postby mcha9797 on Tue Jul 23, 2013 3:22 pm

Thanks to a tip from another member I picked this one up last weekend, it's in very poor condition but the base on this light is kind of cool. My initial thoughts are to make this a beacon and use the base on my other Eagle.

There isn't a single visor that is straight, and six of the reflector frames have severe deterioration.

The bottom is missing the door, would this have been a blank door or a downlight? There will be plenty of extra doors to use on the base.

Either a down-light, or did Eagle ever offer a build in controller????

Boy Mark your just picking up the signals left and right!

Looks like you have your work cut out for you on this one. It's gonna need some tender loving care to get her back into shape. But I'm sure your up for the challenge, right?

I just picked up a beacon not long ago with the same base. The door on it was a blank and I assumed being a beacon at one time it housed an on board controller.

That's gonna be a fun restoration for sure!! Post pics when you get it complete.
A cop pulled me over and said, "Papers..." So I replied, "Scissors! I win!" and drove off.

I've NEVER seen an Eagle downlight in that configuration. It'd have been a steel or aluminum blank door with a controller mounted inside.

Like I said before, this signal is destine for a beacon, the other parts are just a bonus. There's just not enough good parts to totally restore it as it is.

I think a regular door with a poly lens with a one of Larry's finials drilled into the center would look cool all painted up!!!
Well what do you know. If I put my name here, I do not have to sign it everytime.

well Mark that purchase may keep you busy for a while-where did they store it? IN the bay? ;) :Phil:
In that mish-mash of wires, can you tell if there is a spare "hot" wire that could have run anything in the bottom? Great find at any rate!

It looks like it was used as a boat anchor doesn't it.

I was told that it was found in an old barn south of Tampa. I'll have to look at the wiring harness again, (it was pitched in the trash) to see if there was an extra "hot" wire. It was in really bad shape, so it might be hard to tell.
