Lane Control..

EM, NEMA, whatever - if it controls a traffic signal, you can talk about it here.

I would think 170s with specialized firmware, or 2070s with local software.

Ours was a simple switch/relay setup. The part that remains is just south of E 25th & "C" (exit from the Tacoma Dome parking lot). We have turned it all over to them and no longer maintain it. I'll have to stop by and get some pictures.

These were controlled by a NEMA cabinet. This is northern Oakland County, MI which is primarily 2070 territory. These were used to increase lane capacity to and from the now-defunct Pontiac Silverdome and have been dark ever since.

I'm not totally sure, but I think here they used to be tied into whatever NEmA controller was the closest. They would run on a cube relay and the controller would just toggle the signal as it changed timing plans. All of the lane controls have been ripped out now, or will be really soon, so I don't know how much info I'll be able to find about them.

Most of the reversible lane controllers were relay logic oriented...because that was the easiest way to get protection against conflicting displays at adjacent stations. You might have a controller as a master...or change local intersection lane configurations by pattern...but when you're shooting people in the same lane at each other, you need to have a pretty good interlocking system.
