It has a gloss to it, but not a real high gloss. I didn't want a super high gloss finish on this signal, while IMO a high gloss looks good on some signals, this one needed a lower gloss finish.

I agree. My Novalux is painted a similar color green but it is a semi-gloss paint. I think it looks good and gives the signal an older look.

I found this cloth covered wire online last night, it should work nicely to re-wire the sockets.

I wish it was 14 guage wire, but it is 16 guage, considering the very short lengths used on a signal, I think it will work fine.

16 gauge will work fine, yeah. It's not like you're running hair dryers through all 3 sockets.

What brand of wire did you get?

It didn't say what brand it is, just 16 guage primary wire.

A partial description included.....This is new wire. Stranded copper core with PVC insulation and a cotton jacket woven over the wire.

This is an active listing on a website that I can't mention. ;)

I posted this question earlier, but didn't get a response.

The refector brackets would not clean up very well, several of them are pitted from rust that was removed. Should I paint these silver or black, or leave them as they are??

I've never done anything to mine. Since you have them removed, I think I would paint them.

Option A. Some Rust-Oleum metal primer than some non-metallic silver paint.

Option B. Spray with one of those "cold galvanizing compound" spraypaints. (Silver)
