CH D/Early DT LAtch Removal Tool

Postby LarryC39 on Fri Mar 22, 2013 11:05 pm

So I built a latch removal tool the other day. Faced with several Deco sections that have the screw-type latches that wouldn't budge I did the next best thing. Soak them in some oil, apply heat, remove the screw, then pound away. Worked quite well!

The latches themselves will melt easily! Gotta watch how much heat you put on those!

Yea, There made out of pot metal and will melt easily. It only takes little bit. And to free them up to get them to turn. Just a little bit of heats to loosen up the paint and the rust.
