EF-20 pictures

Postby Easy on Sat Jul 14, 2012 2:44 pm

This is just to kill some time....... nothing new.

I was outside today, and decided to open the cabinet to see how the controller was holding up ( I haven't opened it up in about 3 years .)

When I opened it up I took the time to read the cards inside. Although the controller is not original to the cabinet the info on the cards was interesting. I couldn't find the original controller so I put an EF-20 in the cabinet. The back panel, and the flasher are original to the cabinet.

The cabinet came from Seattle....the card says that it was put in " Flash mode " on 3/01/79

The first pictures were taken about 4 years ago. The paint is already weathered  .

BTW does anyone have a lock for it?

Nice controller Easy! It is always neat to look at the paperwork that comes in these cabinets, as it's almost like a history of the cabinet. I have some work order papers from the 1980s that came with my GE Type F cabinet that show the intersection layout, as well as timing changes, cam changes, and the like.

The lock on that cabinet looks like a cabinet lock formatted for a Small Format Interchangeable Core (SFIC) lock cylinder (Most often associated with Best Locks). I'm not sure if you are looking for the correct lock for that cabinet or not, but if you wanted to keep the SFIC lock you would just need a core for it, which are easy to come across (any locksmith should have them).

I think that I have a Corbin with a sleeve that will fit. I'll get some photos. The advantage being that Corbin keys are more plentiful than Best.

I get to edit my post and add the photo. One thing might be an issue is that its not a tapered bolt. Not sure what your Best looks like.

Easy, why don't you pull that lock and post a picture? I might be able to help here.

Sorry Easy. I've never seen anything like that in an Eagle cabinet. I would take it to a locksmith. ...unless that is some jury rig and the standard lock will still fit in there. If so, you will have four empty bolt holes.

Joe? Is that lock style familiar to you?
