We having lots of issues with a new Ped system called SoundSafe (for the visually impared). Has any one heard of this system, and what are your thoughts?

Hadn't heard of SoundSafe. Have someone coming in next week with something - don't even know the name. We use Polara here, cost a lot and are a pain to install and use a lot of cabinet space. We have a couple locations with buttons from [*Short for Richard*] Campbell (not much luck - hence just a couple).

The street environment is a tough one and I don't think manufacturers have quite mastered it yet.

Never heard of "SoundSafe". How does it work? I've dealt with Polara, Campbell and Novax audible ped devices.

Well, SoundSafe requires a handheld device that needs to be programmed for each intersection, then downloaded to the buttons at that intersection. You can customize almost everything. I think when all the bugs are worked out it could be a nice addition, however we are experiencing some problems right now with the software.

Novax makes SoundSafe
