I think it was almost immediately replaced by the LC series controllers. This was about the same time as the CH to TCT transition in the early 80s... Can you post a photo?

I'll post a pic soon. You are right, it is smaller than the DMK-1/DMK-2 variants. The DMK-1/2 manual I have seems to work with this DMK-4. It does look like a SP-40, and certain SP-40 parts are interchangeable with it. Mine has the overlap module and and a bunch of extra modules, whereas the SP-40 had blanks.
I really like the LED stuff. I wonder if the LED can be disabled? I know the NEMA TS-1 connections incorporate a "illumination control" circuit. I'll have to try it out.
