Hello-
My name is Mark O (not Marko)
I am a civil engineer from Chicago. We focus on highway design and traffic control, which fits well with my hobbies.
I primarily collect license plates and road signs (route markers), along with Official Road Maps.
I have admired signals from afar (the ground) since I was very young, but I have none (no room with the other stuff).
Sign-wise, I am interested in route signs (state, US, Interstate) from the "golden era" (pre-1970)
Signal-wise, I am interested in history and photos of assemblies from the 1950's - 70's. I'm fortunate to have grown up in Illinois, which had some of the most interesting assemblies in the nation, before standardizing with the monotube assembly in 1982. Unfortunately, I didn't get many photos of these older assemblies before they were removed.
License Plate-wise, I collecting runs of each state.
I look forward to interacting, sharing photos of my collection, and seeing what everyone else has.

Chicago, former home of many pole mounted econolites with cast iron, octagonal bases. They are a nice looking set up and seem to come up for sale quite often on the internet.
