Square arrow lenses

Postby signal-in-the-box on Thu Aug 15, 2013 10:53 pm

Mod note - Moved this topic into signal talk as it is more appropriate here

Did Econolite make 9" square arrows lenses for ped sections? And would they be considered "rare"...

And does anyone know of a CH-M 12"x9" arrow in use?......

I didn't mean for this to be its own topic, but since it is, these are the Econolite square arrows I'm referring to. I may go "visit" them soon.

There are ALSO some that look like CH type Rs, which leads me to believe neither are original...

Has anyone ever seen or made a sig made of 3 ped sections with red/yellow/green flat lenses?

Jesse had shot some signals up in Prince Edward Island once. I think one was of some square lens solid color indications.

From what I recall, there were some that were in use in Baltimore.

That old website (can't remember the name off the top of my head) that had numerous pictures of old signals from Baltimore had a set of a pair of what appeared as Crouse-Hinds type R traffic signals. Each one had a square section. Though I believe they were green ball indications, not 8" green arrows.

I know I saved one picture of the pair years ago, in which I am sure might not exist on the streets of Baltimore nowadays. Unless someone knows what I am talking about, I'll try to look for it on my labtop later.

I remember the picture and the website, Steven. I also can't remember the name off the top of my head - it was the site with all the pictures of the ash-tray Walk/Waits.
