The ITS cabinets used here house the signal control, vehicle and pedestrian detection equipment, survelliance, GPS for the controller's clock, and wireless radio equipment and in some cases IT equipment for various networks and battery backup. Our old system included stuffing equipment into an already cramped NEMA cabinet, or installing auxiliary cabinets (usually older repurposed NEMA cabinets) for interconnect and battery backup
