This week we will discuss the first EAGLE branded light, the Ornamental Eaglelux.
Bearing a more oranmental design than the hard-edged GE solidbody Novalux, it had a body resembling a fluted roman column and decorative ends like a basket weaving. The doors were of the cast-visor with a door-mounted hinged reflector (also later used on the two earliest Eaglelux varieties). Produced from at least 1930-1932 it still appeared in some trade ads until 1937 [perhaps some artistic liscense and photo reuse] at which time it was replaced by the faceted sectional body rodded Eaglelux signal which would survive another two plus decades. This signal was also produced by Northern Electric of Canada in a distribution partnership with Eagle.
