Steve (Signalstands) repro visors are SA-WEET!!!

Postby hfp_rick on Sat Nov 01, 2008 5:58 pm

Hey all,

Thought I'd post a couple pics of Steve's repro visors that I temporarily installed on my grooveback Econolite for a couple quick pics.

He does reall nice work if you need some hard to find visors. He made me 3 sets of cut-aways, a set of tabbed lenses for my groove back GE, a riveted tabbed set for my Econolite long groove and a set of CH type R riveted tabbed.

Thanks Steve!!

Rick

I second everyone's sentiments on Steve's visors. :hello: ..he does an excellent job :clapping: ! Truth is though we need to get him to be able to reproduce an entire signal head! Then we would be set! Seriously though thanks Steve for the service!

No arguments here.

I struggled with the issue of whether to hammer out bent up original visors that never quite looked perfect (in order to say that all the parts were original) or get factory spec replacements from Steve. Since my objectives are to put signals back as they would have been on the street (like before they were sun faded or hit by bullets and trucks) I tried to think like a signal tech. In the real world we didn't care if a visor came with the signal or was a replacement, so long as it matched.

My problem was that Steve's visors generally looked so much better than the aged visors they were sharing space with on the signal that I've reached a point that if I get in a signal where the visors are really tweaked, I just ask Steve to make me a whole set. After all, factory spec is factory spec and a good looking signal is a good looking signal.

Happy new year all.

I had a private message in my outbox for you for a while and it looks like you did not see it after a while so I deleted it. A new private message is on the way. Look at the top of the board index screen and you will see where it says you have a new message. I will be happy to help you out!

And BTW, thanks to all the satisfied customers :good: your patronage is much appreciated :hello:

I have created an album with some examples of my repros here
http://s718.photobucket.com/albums/ww187/supertutty/repro%20visors/

If any of you have any examples painted and on your sigs, I would appreciate it if you could send them to me and I'll add them here!

Thank you!
