I got a crosswalk version if this signal in my collection.It was not painted white inside the visors.

I got today my DDR pedestrian Signal

Electronic 230-250V E27 max. 60W

but in the signal was 100W lamps

41 pounds to be exact! Those old East German signals weigh quite a bit since they where manufactured by crudely aluminum casting and use transformers in each head since the light uses 10 volts / 55 watts Halogen Quartz bulbs.
The bulbs made the lenses shine bright and had excellent service life, around 7.000 to 10.000 service hours.

They look something like this , similar to H3 bulb common found in European cars.

The insides of US visors are black so the driver on the other street can't see your signal indications reflected from the visor.

German signals rely alot less on farside secondary signals, so I suppose internal white visors aren't too problematic.
