LED Bimodal Arrow?

Postby EagleSignalFan on Sat Jul 31, 2010 12:42 pm

Not to sound like a silly question, but is there such a thing as an LED Bi-Modal arrow? It seems logical, but the only ones that I can recall seeing have been fiber optic.

Well what do you know. If I put my name here, I do not have to sign it everytime.

Thanks everyone. I figured they existed, but just wanted to be sure. Phil, do you happen to have any up for sale at the moment?

I saw one recently up on the 'auction site'.. not sure if it's still up or not though.. it was a 12" bimodal... GE.. I have about 6 i'm using that had the spots for both LEDs/dual psu.. but didn't have the 2nd row of LEDs populated... was an easy adaptation..

Phil, is that traffic signal a 'yellow-trap'? If so, then that's interesting. I usually see them as four section traffic signals.

Ahhh... White Plains' silliness. I like it even better when they slip bimodals into doghouses (in the green arrow section) and just abandon the yellow arrow. :? :?

We are using bimodals here in Tacoma. We have inline 5s (12-8-8-12-12) that are changing to 4s with the bimodal arrow.

Using bimodal arrows to replace the two separate sections does not change the yellow trap potential. Yellow trap is a phasing issue.

I am looking to build an 8-8-8-12 right turn signal with a bimodal arrow. Anyone here have any?
