GE Beacon Restoration

Postby rustyfoot on Sun Jan 13, 2013 1:55 pm

Yesterday I started a restoration on a GE 4 way caution beacon. Here are a few pictures before the disassembly and then disassembled and ready for bead blast.
All hardware is in good condition as are the soup bowl reflectors, GE glass lens..needing only a good clean-up. Wire wheel clean up of hardware should restore it as new. This beacon is all original including the paint and I plan to go back with the original green.
Feel free to jump in and give me the correct color name and if you have a paint code or color swatch that will be great. :hyper: I want this beacon to be as original as day one! :beg:

I love those GE 4 ways. And that one looks in great shape.

Super score, Chris!

Nice GE. My favorite light has to be CH but I think GE has become my 2nd favorite. Good looking beacon.

That's one good looking GE, doesn't seem to have seen much time in service by looking at the insides. Looking forward to seeing the results.

Hi John,
That looks like a good match. Did you paint the hanger the same color? If you have picture of completed beacon please send to me in a PM or to cscaton@andycable.com :2Cool:

Very nice beacon  Mine was in service without visors also in my neighbouring town, The intersection had weird angles so visors wouldnt of worked
