Hello,
I was in Pburg this weekend and notices they where installing new traffic signals along the main road (forgoet the name). But they where putting backboards up that where black with a reflective yellow boarder and T-SHapes signals. Is this a new standard in NJ? Ive been seeing sigimlar things in NY but its about an hr away from NY but right on the boarder of PA. Does PA use this as well?

It is a Federal Standard,

So all the traffic lights will look the same in all 50 states... :hurl:

So that means the yellow reflective border will peel away two weeks after installation just like New York... :hurl:

Have you seen that reflective border peeling on installations already? Curious how they're applying it and what kind of sheeting they're using in that case...

  Must be made by McCain!

That was shortly after installation. Last I checked, the peeling one in the picture is gone and several others are peeling. Might have been easier to use paint...

Low Bidder.....

The contractor submits a list of items they are going to use with spec sheets for every project. The sheets are usually 2 pages per item with manufacturer black and white drawings or pictures. They are supplied by the distributor, which is Traffic Systems on Long Island. A McCain Distributor, FYI.

Once excepted by the state, it is installed. After the signal is turned on, It has to pass the "10 day test". From there, any problems you may see are yours to enjoy until they are repaired...........

Around here they may put up back plate on the lights, they may put up a couple at an intersection or non at all. It makes no sense. I havent seen the peeling yet, just the back plates breaking.
