EOI?

Postby 3Mfanatic on Sun Sep 01, 2013 4:03 pm

These LEDs went up about a year ago and I loved them immediately upon the city unbagging the new signals and turning them on. They're unlike anything else the City of Portland has used and though I believe them to be EOI, I snapped these pics today for a vote.

Feel free to view the images in full-size 4000 x 3000 on Flickr itself.

I also believe the pedestrian signals to be EOI as the countdown display (not shown here) looks exactly like the EOI module that Nick just got.

Andrew, those are nice, and you are close, but I believe those are E-I-E-I-Os.

Not sure about the peds, because you cant really see anything other than the hand.

The vehicle signal LEDs are Leoteks

I know many people here may think I have a beef with LEDs but really I don't. I just hadn't found a set worthy of the display until I found these so I now own a set of Leotek IL6 modules in my Econolite short groove. Despite being blindingly bright, I love 'em! I originally planned on restoring this signal but I think the LEDs with the street-worn patina give it a great, classy look so for now, I'm going to leave it alone.

Here's a close-up of the lens pattern. I'll admit it's not as handsome as the crosshatched pattern used on the IL3 but it makes up for it in how the light is distributed when the light is on.

Wow, they keep changing patterns with each other.....

All the incandescent look ones that are tinted, make any signal look old school!! :good:
Well what do you know. If I put my name here, I do not have to sign it everytime.
