I'm in the same boat. Does yours have 179NY-TAPS on the back label? Lot of cool blinkin' lights, though.

the controller has 179NY on the lable
when you power it up and I'm using a 170 controller tester
it will run but the phases on the lights display are wrong.

I have no clue how to program it or how to switch the phases so I get them to work on the display in
correct order.

thanks for any help

Phil (2070) says the C1 pinouts are standard. I haven't tried mine with a tester yet to see how the outputs stack up. Still trying to figure it out.

Turn it off, With the "Stop Time " switch on, and pressing the "8" key, Turn the power back on. That will put in a standard NYS 8 phase program with min recall on the phases. Turn the stop time switch back off....

If the display still looks wrong, then the 170 tester was set up to another agency's standards.

  To bad the seller did not send you the blank program sheets....
Well what do you know. If I put my name here, I do not have to sign it everytime.

You have to hit "D" to display any code.

D2200 = FF for all phases permitted 1 - 8
D2201 = __ For what Pedestrian phases are permitted

D2214 = Detector input # 1 Through D222F = Detector input # 28

D2270 = SP-1 through D227D = SP-14

By all means, You really need the 20 page programming sheets for all of the features. i think it is known as a "TE-261" form??

ok here is what the controller does after reset

shows 051199
laps

it runs the following phases

1 + 4
3 + walk light number 20
8 + walk light number 11
2 + walk light number 3

phases 5, 6, and 7 always red and no switches on the tester will make the 3 phases ever green

also has a 416A card installed menory module

also behind the front access panel there is a carld with a row of LED's on it but they never light.

this is the most current on the controller

thanks John

T.A.P.S. 051199 is the chips date from 1999

The LEDs on the front door on the left side that blink are the active phase(s), the ones on steady are next phase. The dark ones are not enabled. They are numbered as follows

1-2 I 3-4
5-6 I 7-8

Or it can run as bellow

1- 2 I 3-4-7-8
5 -6 I

The "I" I put in is the ring barrier. It sounds like your tester is wired to a different spec.....
