Andy UK Collector is back!

Postby lankyman011 on Fri Dec 26, 2008 5:58 pm

Hey guys!

A lot of you guys I remember, but I doubt many of you remember me! Andy Reynolds, signal collector from good old England! I went by the same username and have the same email that was attatched on SingalFans Club, so some of you may or may not recognise it. After a reasonably long collecting halt whilst I completed university and the following teacher training after that, time has started to free up and I hope to get back into the hobby a little bit!

Regarding the collection, its still very much the same as it was when I left.......although I hope to add a signal or two in the not too distant future! Pics are still in my albums on the old forum, however a new link to what I have is here, on my webshots http://community.webshots.com/user/lankyman01. Obviously ignore the hockey jersey collection, what you guys are after is in the last folder! Those pictures are all quite recent.

Anyways, look forward to speaking to a few of you again, and now its time to hit the for sale section!

See you around,

Andy

Andy,

Welcome aboard! Glad to see you made it here ok. I was racking my brain wondering how long has it been since you posted last? Seems like forever since we last chatted. Hope you enjoy all of the new features and flexibility this new format brings.

Heya!

Nice to hear from you guys, Merry Christmas, and I hope you are both well.

In that pic, yes the blue arrow does light up. Its a poly sign face with 3 small flourescent tubes behind it. They are pictured (poorly) in the 4th photo in that album. UK regs state that any box signs that accompany signals have to be illuminated 24 hours a day in order to be enforceable by law, so Im guessing flourescent tubes were the cheapest before LEDs came along. In all of those photos the arrow is actually illuminated, but as it was taken during daytime, its hard to notice. Ill try and grab a few extra photos tomorrow in the dark!

Hey Andy, welcome back. I actually was thinking that we don't seem to have as much of the international contingent here as we used to. Maybe all of the international signalfans could check in and say hey?
Moderately inspirational message.

Ooo, missed this thread - Hey Andy.

I'm going to check about that again. I know most are these days, but I can't see it being very pro-environment, especially when controllers these days have a PEC input.

Likley, TSC use a CFL bulb in thiers, but it's just the same. Then TSEU come along with thier BS3G or what ever they call it, which is an LED box sign that lights the signs up nearly blue

Well what do you know. If I put my name here, I do not have to sign it everytime.
