Hello,
Well, it all started when I bought my first classic car; a 1967 Mustang. I was only 10 years old at the time and, of course, it was a Matchbox car. That one car was enough to get me started collecting (hoarding?). Now I have so many diecast model cars that most of them are stored away in boxes (yep, hoarding!!!).
Throughout the years I’ve had various other collections including, but not limited to, model ships, coins, bottles, and “Old Crow” advertising (hence the username OldCrow1957). Recently, while checking out a few flea malls and junk stores, I found and bought a Stop sign. Then I found a Yield sign… then a No Parking sign… later a Speed Limit sign. The very next day it was a School sign and a 4-Way sign. You guessed it, ANOTHER collection.
Being an experienced hoarder, uh I mean collector, I started searching Ebay and Craigslist for more traffic signs. And WOW what did I find on Craigslist but a real, genuine traffic light… something I’ve wanted since I bought that classic Mustang years ago. I soon found that the seller actually had 2 traffic lights and he really needed the cash. Yep, ANOTHER collection.
One of the two lights I bought is a 3M model 131. The other is only marked T/CON on the back. My internet research found quite a bit of info on the 3M light. However, I didn’t find much on the T/CON. It was during this research that I discovered SignalTraffic Forums.
Besides hoarding, I like the Blues and occasionally a good Kentucky Bourbon. In my “spare” time, I enjoy my ’73 Chevy truck, my ‘70’s Berry Mini-T buggy, and whatever my wife and kids tell me I enjoy.
That’s about it. That’s basically why I’m here and who I am. Not sure how much I can add to the forum but I’m looking forward to learning more about traffic lights and signs.
