It may still be in the basement........ :Phil:
Well what do you know. If I put my name here, I do not have to sign it everytime.

Yeah, but it might be full of water and not in Newark anymore. :dizzy:

This one is interesting because they're showing the prototype DuraSig model in the ad. Look very closely and you can notice that wingnuts are used in place of where the typical DuraSig thumbscrews would be on the door. Those are the earliest prototypes that were not injection cast, at least not the way the production models were. I never seen a prototype model in service.

If you were to see the back of these the "DURASIG" name would not be present. I only know of a handful in existance and I think Jay has them. :rotfl:

Perhaps you should be borrowing my screen name. Good catch Nick!

I notice the ad text refers to green as an available Durasig color. Don't think I've ever seen one of those...were/are they in fact as popular as the yellow and black (or both) which I am familiar with?

Here is a picture of a prototype DuraSig in service. Wingnuts instead of thumbscrews

Image

Here is one of Jay's from the back. http://s90.photobucket.com/albums/k271/ ... 9512-1.jpg (too big to post)

The yellow and green sections are the prototypes, the top section is standard production. Note the lack of DURASIG and the lack of the injection mold marking on the center of the Eagle bird logo on the lower sections. There was only one two holes drilled for backplates instead of six on the later models.
