From what ive leaned about the gamewell systems is they ran on a low voltage ie 12v but needed to be only 50ma. so not to burn out the coils in their systems like the fire alarm pull boxes, youngstownfire.com has alot of info on gamewwell you may find a better answer there, frank

It still has two insulator spools and two bolt guy wire clamp attached

Would you happen to have any pictures of it hanging up???

Not on the pole line

Thank you

I have Gamewell fire box (1939 model). For a gamewell Fire Alarm box the voltage is not as imprtant as the total milliamps in the circuit. You can use 12 volts DC but the total resistance in the circuit loop for a Gamewell FIRE ALARM BOX system needs to yeild 100ma or less. This is acheived by adding reisistors or any other device you put into the loop. You can put a meter in the loop to find out. I don't know what current your devices were designed to run on, but it could be similar to the fire alarm box system. You can get 100ma out of voltages much less than 12V DC, so be careful.

Plugs12 is correct about the youngstownfire site. You may find more helpful info there. That beacon and controller/relay box is very cool indeed!

Thanks for sharing!

I used a 9 volt batt. to operate one of my fire alarm boxes. Batt. lasted a long time before needing change. 12 volts through the fire alarm to 12 volt bulbs in the light should work fine.

Thanks. I may check into the battery idea.
The beacon bulb however is a 120 volt incadesant.

Leaving out of town soon and hopefully will wrap this project up on my return.

I have some beacons that I run a 12v Malibu transformer to and use a 12v bulb I get at RV places.
That way I don't have to hard wire 110 also I can use the same socket in the beacon. I think you could power the whole alarm and beacon with one.

Yes, this is true, but you may need to use resistors to keep the 12v supply from frying the coils in that flasher. (which may reduce the current too much to power the light bulb  )

Please be careful :beg: I'm guessing that flasher/relay is pretty rare.
