5 year old McCain poly signal broken. Need advice

Postby Sargent_Sowell on Fri Jun 14, 2013 1:16 pm

My 5 year old McCain poly signal (which has never seen street service) is broken. It will not turn on. At first I thought it was the fuse, but after replacing it, still no luck. Any suggestions on what to do?

Can we assume you have it hooked up to a LTG controller or something similar??

Check your connections, the signal is the simple part of the circuit.

If tied directly to AC power with a plug check that the hot or neutral leads didn't come loose.

If tied into a control circuit...LTG or otherwise, check to see if all the connections are tight and that no bare leads are touching eachother. If the signal checks out, examine the control for damage...burn marks.

Pictures would be helpful

Is it plugged in? Is the light bulb blown?

It is an LTG controller and everything's plugged in and should be working fine. I've had some issues with he wiring and such coming loose, but I've checked and that's not the case this time. I will post pictures as soon as I get home

Sounds like either your LTG board is dead, or isn't getting power. this has nothing to do with the signal it is connected to

Did you blow a lamp? I know some people have had LTGs go bad when i bulb goes.
