Can anyone ID and date this beacon? (Horni?)

I happened to stumble across this beacon hanging over an intersection today.
It was connected to a mechanical flasher, but I did not have access to it.

Here's your beacon... It's a Crouse Hinds!

It appears in the 1935 "condulets" catalog. (First link.)

The 2nd link depicts a predecessor version of the beacon from the 1922 catalog.

Gamewell used them -- with and without copper domes. Red was originally a Fire Alarm Box locator signal -- usually related to a specific Fire Alarm telegraph station. Blue was a Police Recall Signal -- usually related to a specific Police Call Box.

The older ones have external connecting rods. On the newer ones (1940's) the rods that connect the top and bottom, and hold the lens in place -- are internal.Image
