Type r hanger?

Postby Easy on Sun Aug 18, 2013 10:41 pm

In my desperate search for a CH hanger I dug this one out of my stash, and thought.....bingo.... a NOS CH hanger! :clapping: , but I soon noticed that this CH hanger is for a newer signal. I'm thinking type R. Can anyone back this up?

I have an un-restored DT single face with this same hanger but it could have been added to the light later.

I don't know if it is for a type R, but it is definitely a newer one. The older ones have a shorter area for the bolts to go through...for the lack of a better way to describe it.

The type R heads I've seen and have photos of with the original weatherheads in place seem to have a lighter/white colored version of the plate in the wire entry area with a longer looking slot for the hanger bolt. The style looks a little older to me in general.

I am going to say the last of the "DT", The "M" and The "R".

The last DTs had the 2 cut outs in the end plates for the locking rings so that the teeth would mesh with the 2 rings.

The "M" had a "Bigger" locking ring, but the 2 cut outs line up.

The later "R" hangers has 3 sets of 2 holes for the pin. The one pictured has 1 set of 7.

The older "DT" ones had 1 set of 4 and no cut outs for the locking ring.

No warranty expressed or implied.....
Well what do you know. If I put my name here, I do not have to sign it everytime.
